Terrence Jones Go Out UCLA Comes to Washington

Terrence Jones Go Out UCLA Comes to Washington on Trends Hot Topics --- Terrence Jones Go Out UCLA Comes to Washington. Update report today, Terrence Jones and Terrence Ross will be coming to play basketball next season for the Washington Huskies. Each made their selections official with a news conference at Jefferson High School in Portland.

Jones, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Portland Jefferson High School, was twice named the Oregon 5A player of the year. He averaged 32 points and 13 rebounds in leading Jefferson to its third consecutive state title last season. Jones will be joined by Jefferson teammate Terrence Ross, who also picked Washington on Friday. UCLA had also recruited Ross.

“I wanted to go to a school that was ready for next season,” Jones said. “I also wanted to stay close to home. As I have said all along, I want to play with Terrence Ross.”

Coming into Friday, Jones was the bigger question mark. Several outlets reported earlier in the week that Ross had decided to choose Washington over other suitors, including Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma and Oregon. His selection of the Huskies was no surprise.

Friday's commitments complete the Huskies' list of newcomers assuming there are no further transfers. Jones and Ross will join Desmond Simmons, another wing player from California, and C.J. Wilcox, who redshirted last season, as part of Washington's freshman class. The Huskies also added big man Aziz N'Diaye, who has three years of eligibility remaining.

Clarence Trent and Elston Turner were the two transfers from Washington's 26-10 team of a year ago that advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

In Addition of Jones is huge for Lorenzo Romar and Washington. The Huskies reached the Sweet 16 in this year's NCAA Tournament before being eliminated by West Virginia. Star wing Quincy Pondexter will be moving on, but key returnees Matthew Bryan-Amaning, Justin Holiday, Venoy Overton and Isaiah Thomas alone would have provided a preseason top 25-caliber nucleus.

Bringing Jones on board gives UW a versatile, athletic big man (although he prefers to be seen as a guard or wing) that can play alongside Bryan-Amaning and appears to be a perfect fit in the program's up-tempo offensive attack.
