Officials at the National Weather Service have not been able to confirm that it was in fact a meteor, but they said that meteor showers were expected to peak in the Wisconsin area around April 14, according to Wisconsin TV station WKOW, and so it was “likely” to have been one.
Many residents have captured video and photos of the meteor. No one is sure where it landed, and no injuries have been reported. The first video below is from a Deputy Sheriff’s car dash camera from Howard Co., near Waterloo, Iowa. The second video is a local TV station report with several different views of the meteor.
